Music Basti’s programs initially began with and continue to involve the workshop model of teaching and interaction. The focus is on participation and enjoyment by children, and enjoyable teaching content and methodologies for large groups of children. These workshops incorporate music education with a focus on developing rhythm, melody, pitch, music awareness and appreciation, through a combination of non- formal and formal teaching methods, message driven songs and other activities

The team at Music Basti is currently doing research on developing toolkits for workshops that include games, exercises, teaching methods, songs, musical activities, etc. that help strengthen the music educational workshops. In addition to this, research includes the assessment and evaluation systems to understand the impact of the programs in the children participants.
