Music Basti identifies centers for children at risk, youth volunteers and members of the music community, organizations and NGOs working in Delhi with ‘street children’/ children at risk in the Delhi area. The content and methodology of education through music is developed by a team of resource persons in consultation with NGO functionaries and with interaction with children.

The process is facilitated through a sustained programme of workshops imparting basic music education and interaction to children, primarily focusing on urban youth interaction with the children. In addition to this a performance space on a bi-annual basis is set up. Music Basti will host public functions/ concerts involving the children and resource- persons- cum- musicians, a joint and mutual performance space. This creates a platform for the children to perform, and allows large scale awareness of the programme as well.
